AMERICAN wOMEN'S cLUB of lEBANON
For more than 60 years, philanthropy has been an important element of the American Women’s Club of Lebanon. Over the years, with the money raised through fundraising activities and donations, we have given in kind to many locally based NGOs that provide much needed support to the Lebanese people. The AWC Caring Committee is committed to continuing to help now more than ever during Lebanon’s current economic crisis.
The AWC also welcomes our members to volunteer their Time, Talent, and Treasure to charitable projects that they suggest and help to initiate.
For the last 4 years, the Heart Pillow Project, in partnership with the Lebanese Breast Cancer Association, has provided much needed pain relief and comfort to women who have undergone mastectomies. The AWC Material Girls group continues to contribute their Time, Talent, and Treasure to sew these Heart Pillows, and our members help to stuff them during social time at designated general meetings. We get a chance to connect with each other and keep our hands busy for a worthy cause at the same time.
Over the last few months our club members have donated food, necessary items and money to Lebanese NGOs, the Lebanese Food Bank, Food Blessed, and Ayadina, for distribution to the needy and hungry throughout Lebanon.
It is our hope to initiate more such meaningful projects in the near future.
We are a small but active AWC working to make a difference!
